Four years of Good Work

It’s hard to believe this is the 4th Good Work birthday message. This time last year we went all in on being the development team for design agencies, and over the last few days, I've reflected on how we've done that as well as a few other highlights from the past 52 weeks.

Spring

We started off the year launching quite a few websites, and at the end of March, we launched The Good Bracket, a fun little March Madness bracket we created for our clients and other friends in the digital community. I spoke at the ACU CEO Series for their School of Business, followed by a two-week retreat to England. It's bad luck to go a year without a pint from The Kean’s Head, so I went ahead and took care of that early. In May we began work with Mizzen+Main, an online men’s clothing brand that we now manage and maintain on an ongoing basis.

Summer

Leading into summer Chris and Steve began working with Bestow, a startup down the street from us in Dallas turning life insurance on its head. We worked alongside their design team developing the front-end of their React applications and their marketing website. In June we did an ATX tour, chatting to potential clients and telling our story. Things continued to get busier and busier and in late July we hired Ariel, our first full-time Studio Manager, and to help with the growth we made an over the top internal book called The Playbook to streamline how we operate, manage clients and fill our pipeline.

We closed out the summer by having the whole team out to Durango, Colorado where we ate, drank, tubed, and talked strategy.

Fall

In September Chase and Jeff joined as the 7th and 8th members of our team. Ariel continued to step up our client services game and our development team spent the majority of the Fall deep in client projects. Steve launched our first iOS application and we began ideating on productizing websites for smaller markets. We partnered with ACU to help launch their Startup Madness event, and The Community Foundation of Abilene to create a website for their Open Road Series, an event we're proud to have joined the ranks of our growing list of sponsorships.

Winter

Leading into the holiday break we launched Hatch, a new productized web design service for smaller markets that feels more like a fully custom website than Wix or Squarespace. For more information, you can read the Hatch write-up in Dallas Innovates.

The new year started off more exciting than ever. Boots and Gavin launched Criquet Shirts and we started new relationships with companies like Freeman, Frito-Lay North America and Mi Golondrina.

Here’s to another year of partnering with design teams to bring new and exciting digital projects to life. Thank you to all of our clients and partners for another year of doing Good Work.
