Donkeytail plugin for Craft CMS

Posted by Garrett on

Today we released the lite version of Donkeytail, a Craft CMS plugin we’ve been using internally for a few months now. Donkeytail stems from a need we had to content manage dots on images.

Maps come up a lot in our world. From maps for new development projects to maps for hiking trails through the Scottish Highlands, and most of the time it makes more sense to roll our own system for design consistency rather than using a service like the Google Maps API. Reasoning for this varies from project to project — maybe what we’re mapping isn’t quite there yet (like a new neighborhood), or the design of the map and its interactions doesn’t quite fit a traditional mapping library.

Donkeytail allows you to quickly and easily content manage pinpoints on images. You can use it for locations on a faux map, showcasing multiple products within an image, or even pinning the tail on a donkey. The use cases are endless.

A quick video tutorial on installing, configuring and using Donkeytail.

You can download the plugin on GitHub today. We hope you like it! Please follow us on Twitter for more information about the future Donkeytail Pro release.

Happy pinning!

3 years of Good Work

Happy birthday Good Work, you’re 3. You survived your terrible twos, you can walk, talk, and more food is ending up in your mouth than on the floor. You’re not quite running yet, but that’ll be here before you know it. I spent the last few days thinking about where we came from, where we’re at, and where we’re going. Year one was all about validating the idea that people will pay us enough… Read More »

If you’ve not used Craft but are curious… Read More »
